Commercial Account Manager

About the role

As an Commercial Account Manager you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to customers on our range of animal feed products. You will work closely with customers to understand their unique requirements and suggest the most suitable feed options for their animals. You will work collaboratively with the planning team to manage customer accounts, maintaining accurate records that allow us to proactively balance customer expectations and business requirements.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Participate in a collaborative working model within the operations team
  • Adhere to Company process, ensuring relevant documentation is accurate and well maintained
  • Champion the use of problem-solving tools and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers and stakeholders
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer enquiries providing timely responses and resolutions
  • Process and manage orders, including receiving and confirming order and delivery details
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date records of customer information, sales interactions, and sales activities in the ERP system, including product details, quantities, and delivery information
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing for products


The Person:


We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills:

  • A good standard of education (GCSE’s, including Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent)
  • Hold a full UK car driving licence
  • Proficient IT skills (including good experience of using Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook)
  • Reliable, self-motivated, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Methodical and accurate with an excellent eye for detail
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Agricultural background/understanding


It is desirable if the candidate also has the following skills:

  • Demonstrated interest in agriculture
  • Supply chain or manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Experience of CRM/ERP systems (i.e., SAP)
