LGV Class 1 Driver

About the role


Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced LGV class 1 drivers. Working 48 hours per week, on a 3 week rotating shift pattern, to allow for work life balance and the opportunity to maximise earning potential with enhanced overtime pay.


Job Purpose and Impact:

You will be a key player in the Company’s own transport operation. You will champion safe working and eco-driving, whilst building strong relationships with key stakeholders and representing the business on customer farms and at supplier stores.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety, Health and Environment - ensuring you champion a safety first culture, to provide a safe working environment for yourself and others: on site, at customer premises, and on the public highway, in line with all Company and regulatory standards
  • Driving - complying with all road traffic regulations and relevant legislation related to EU Drivers’ Hours and the Working Time Directive, ensuring accurate completion of tachograph records, manual entries, defect reports etc
  • Feed Delivery - ensuring accurate and safe working on farms to ensure customer requirements are met in line with relevant feed safety regulations
  • Paperwork - ensuring all delivery records, cleaning records etc. are completed accurately, in full and on time
  • Cost and Efficiency - demonstrate efficient and cost effective driver behaviours in line with Company KPI's


Essential Requirements:

  • LGV Class 1 (C & E entitlement) driving license
  • Driver CPC qualification
  • Good geographical knowledge and confidence with rural routes
  • Positive, flexible, and excellent communication skills
  • Physically active, due to the hands on requirements when on farm


Desirable Requirements:

  • 2+ years of regular Class 1 LGV driving
  • Experience with bulk blowers, tippers and/or other pneumatic discharge equipment
  • Knowledge of agricultural distribution
  • Experience of multi drop deliveries


Your Working Pattern:

  • Week One- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week Two- Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week Three- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Due to the nature of the role there will be an ad-hoc requirement to night out.
