The principal activities of Ian Mosey (Feed) Ltd, a subsidiary, is manufacturing superior quality and innovative animal feed from its mill in Coulton, near York and delivering to farms across the North of England.
Job Purpose and Impact:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Coordinator to join our team. As a Technical Coordinator, you will ensure consistent product quality and feed safety, in line with the relevant legal, regulatory and Company requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Key Accountabilities
- Support and promote a feed safety and safety first culture
- Coordinate, administer and develop the QMS, ensure all staff trained and engaged in feed safety relevant to their role
- Ensure HACCP implementation and compliance
- Lead external audits and arrange corrective action. Support information requests from third parties
- Maintain an internal audit plan and complete internal audits
- Provide regular comprehensive quality assurance KPI reporting and status feedback to the management team
- Own and maintain process verification, sampling and analysis schedules and evaluation of results
- Support out of specification results, promptly implementing corrective and preventative measures
- Take ownership of complaint investigations, root cause analysis, agreed preventative actions and complaint analysis and reporting
- Coordinate quality assurance effectively via operational reviews
- Support R&D activities
- Support technical communications with customers to aid the sales team in the sales cycles regarding product quality aspects
- Support the sales team in defining the products to offer to customers
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and customers to ensure enquires are dealt with professionally and efficiently
The Person:
We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills:
- Demonstrable experience in quality control / quality assurance and engagement
- Knowledge / experience in HACCP
- Proficient IT skills in Microsoft 365
- Hands on experience in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Accurate data entry skills
- Experience in data analysis / process and interpret numerical data, identify and action trends
- Experience of problem solving and root cause analysis
- A confident communicator both written and oral, ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Planning and organisation skills
It is desirable if the candidate also has the following skills:
- Degree level qualification in scientific discipline or similar
- Auditing and HACCP qualification
- Background in manufacturing, particularly in the food or feed industry or background in, microbiology, nutrition or come from a laboratory environment
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or similar
- Familiarity with TACCP principles
- Working knowledge of SAP
